Rebels took position in the streets of Cap-Haitien, 
Feb. 23, after flushing out supporters of President  Aristide.
    Carloads of rebels went from house to house in Cap-Haitien, 
   Feb. 23, to flush out militant supporters of President Aristide.

 
 
     Rebels attacked Cap-Haitien, the Haitian government's last
     major stronghold in the north.

 

       Commandante Louis Jodel Chamblain fires towards of the
       buildings at the Cap-Haitian police headquarters as he led a
       commando of rebel soldiers from the Haitian National
       Revolutionary Liberation Front.
