HAVANA - U.S. Sen. Max Baucus and U.S. Rep. Dennis Rehberg, leaders of congressional efforts to eliminate restrictions on American travel to Cuba, arrived here Saturday for a weekend trip with Montana farm representatives.

It was the second trip to Cuba for both Montana congressmen.

Baucus, a Democrat, visited in 2000. Rehberg, a Republican, came this year.

The visit comes days after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to ease restrictions on traveling to the island, despite a threatened veto by President Bush.

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on a similar version of the spending bill later this fall, but no date has been scheduled.

Baucus and Rehberg also support an end to more than 40 years of U.S. trade sanctions against Cuba, which were designed to force a change in President Fidel Castro's communist government.
