60 illegal immigrants found hiding at Sierra Vista hotel
Tucson Citizen
U.S. Border Patrol agents found more than 60 illegal immigrants
in five hotel rooms in Sierra Vista on Friday.
One of the 60 immigrants was determined to be from Central America.
Agents followed a Chevy Beretta they suspected was involved in the alleged smuggling of the immigrants to Budget Inn, 201 W. Fry Blvd. in Sierra Vista, according to a Border Patrol news release.
In the hotel's parking lot, three people came out of a room and approached the Chevy.
Border Patrol agents determined they were illegal immigrants from Mexico, according to the agency's spokesman.
Questioning them led agents to believe more illegal immigrants were hiding in the hotel.
A search of five rooms found more illegal immigrants.
Three vehicles including the Beretta were seized in connection with the incident.
