Bar fight leaves 10 dead in Guatemala
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (AP) -- Two rival groups broke out into a
shooting match in a bar in the capital, leaving 10 people dead, police
said
Thursday.
The violence happened about midnight Wednesday when a group arrived and
opened fire on some of the customers in a bar located in a rough section
of the
city known for drug trafficking, said Guatemalan Police spokesman Faustino
Sanchez.
The victims fired back. Four people died on the scene, while six others
died at
area hospitals, Sanchez said. Two people were hospitalized with injuries.
The assailants fled from the scene in a car, the owner of the Marathon
bar told
police.
