Cuban Rebels Warn Nicaraguan Envoy

HAVANA, Feb. 27 (AP)—Fidel Castro’s rebels today threatened the new Nicaraguan Ambassador to Cuba with violence to his person and country over a Cuban-Nicaraguan arms agreement. Outside Havana, they spread violence and sabotage over widely separated areas with rioting, fires and cattle stealing.

The Nicaraguan Ambassador, Miguel d’Escoto, presented his credentials to the President Tuesday. His Government had announced recently it was selling arms to Cuba.

The 55-year-old envoy said callers had told him that unless the arms sales were stopped, they would try to upset the Nicaraguan Government.
