RIO DE JANEIRO -- (AFP) -- This city's oldest and most celebrated bordello is joining the New Economy in a bid to attract a wider, more upscale clientele.

 Vila Mimoza is creating an Internet site to attract clients who might not want to venture to the city's Praca da Bandeira neighborhood.

 ``Now you can see the most enchanted place and the most desired tourist site in Rio de Janeiro,'' says the website, www.vilamimoza.com, scheduled to go online this week.

 The website is administered by an organization representing the more than 1,000 prostitutes working in the north side of the city.

 Vila Mimoza's website makes the brothel the latest player in the Internet's massive sex trade. Many brothels in Nevada -- where prostitution is legal -- are online, along with individual prostitutes.
