Velia
Solis, right, Evelia's sister, places plates of homemade
Mexican food on a tray for servers to take to guests. All of Evelia's sisters, dressed in their formal gowns, helped in preparing and serving the food for the quinceañera.

An
important part of the quinceañera reception is the dances
that are performed by Evelia and her court of chambelanes. Evelia dances the first dance with her father. After that, she is eligible to dance with any man. Asalia Solis, Evelia's sister, motions to their parents to come forward so that the dances can begin. |
