Underground leader admits bombs planted
SAN JUAN -- A guerrilla leader admitted Saturday that his group planted bombs at several banks during a strike by Puerto Rican telephone workers, but not the bomb that wounded a police officer.
Filiberto Ojeda Rios, leader of the pro-independence People's Boricua Army, made the admission during an interview broadcast on WKAQ-AM radio.
Two of the station's reporters said they were taken blindfolded to Ojeda's hideout, where they conducted the interview.
