SAN SALVADOR -- Police confirmed Monday that a Cuban exile suspected of
paying two men to carry out bombings in Havana had entered the country
using
false credentials.
Cuban authorities last week showed a video of Luis Posada Carriles walking
in
San Salvador. The video was presented during the trial of Ernesto Cruz
Leon, one
of two Salvadorans accused of planting bombs in Cuba.
The head of the National Civil Police, Rodrigo Avila, told reporters Monday
that
Posada Carriles used a Salvadoran passport and identification card to enter
the
country.
