Three Arraigned here in Cuban Arms Raid

Three men were arraigned yesterday on charges of having amassed an illegal arms cache in Brooklyn for shipment to anti-Castro forces in Cuba. Included were mortars, machine guns, revolvers and pistols.

One of the men, Louis Mari, 33 years old, a Cuban living in the Bronx, was described by the police as treasurer and purchasing agent for Commandos L, and anti-Castro group with members in Florida and South America.

However, in Miami, Oscar de Tuya, assistant coordinator of Commandos L - "L" is for "Liberty" - said Marti was not a member of the group.

Marti was released in $2,500 bail by Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Matthew F. Fagan on charges of illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy. Also released under similar bonds for arraignment later this month on the weapons charge were George de Meo, 31, proprietor of a Brooklyn sporting goods store, and Antonio Guardino, 36, who works in the store.

The police said they found in the rear of the M & D Sports Shop, at 6422 14th Avenue, a small machine ship, equipped with about $100,000 worth of equipment for tooling and repairing weapons.
