Bomb damages freight firm
A Molotov cocktail thrown sometime Sunday night damaged the door and awning of Almacen El Espanol, a firm that forwards packages and money to Cuba, Miami police said.
A year ago to the day, the firm's Hialeah branch office was burned, said El Espanol manager Angel Morera.
There was no major damage to the office at 1359 SW First St., but workers spent Monday morning cleaning windows blackened by smoke, Morera said.
Morera said the bombing was an outgrowth of a resolution passed by the Miami City Commission on March 18 that would require firms that forward packages and money to Cuba to post a $500,000 bond.
Miami police spokesman Juan Santos said the bombing is under investigation.
City Commissioner Joe Carollo accused Castro agents of the bombing.
