U.S. Jury Acquits Four Foes of Castro
ORLANDO (AP) Dr. Orlando Bosch, head of an anti-Castro fighting organization, and three compatriots were acquitted today of plotting to export bombs for a raid on Cuba.
A Federal District Court jury returned the verdict five hours after retiring in the trial's 6th day.
Dr. Bosch, 38, and his three companions were arrested last year near Orlando by Federal agents who said the group had 10 homemade bombs.
Miami spokesmen for Dr. Bosch's organization said at the time that the bombs were to be dropped on a Havana oil refinery in an effort to shake Fidel Castro's regime.
Dr. Bosch and his Insurrectional Revolutionary Recovery Movement have raided Cuba numerous time's by plane and boat, saying they operated each time from secret bases outside the United States to avoid breaking the neutrality laws.
